Women's "day out"

We housewives once awhile come out and spend some time together forgetting our husbands and kids.Often it is like 'putting the frogs on a balance".Somehow few days back we managed an outing which has rejuvenated us from all our seemingly dull daily chores.Seven likeminded neighbours hired a vehicle and went out to a farm house belonging to our friend with few bags full of goodies.
The farmhouse was in the middle of a coffee estate and we parked the vehicle outside the farm and went to explore the nature. For the first time we saw tender cardomoms. Also there was greenpepper tender and hanging beautifully in bunches on the vines which were surrounding arecanut plants for support.Coffee beans were not yet ripe and we saw many verieties of fruit plants with fruits hanging in abundant.
Every now and then we had cold drinks and fruits to strengthen our limbs for further exploration. Of course as we were not accustomed to walk in such up and down area we had quite a bit of entertainment when one of us lost balance and had a fall.We were stunned when we came across a small factory which makes dinner plates out of arecanut leaves. Those eco friendly plates were very good in quality. After lunch we went to the top of the farmhouse to witness a green canopy of rubber trees. Our friend then took us to the rubber processing factory. There liquid collected from each tree was processed to make thick sheets.
Then we realised that it is time to return and on our way we stopped near a water source to have sometime to play like small kids. Throwing water on eachother, becoming wet and playing in running water was hilight of our trip.
I have written about this trip only to make housewives think about such outings, which they deserve, but no time or inclination.Only after a few days I got a mail from my daughter that she and three of her girlfriends went to a trecking trip on Saturday and stayed in a resort ,lazied a sunday morning and returned on sunday evening. Hats off to them.

  1. That's very true. Once in a while, we have to let our hair down and have a good time. Kudos to you and your friends to have done exactly that. Very good post. Keep it up.

  2. It does looks like all of you had a very good time. We all have a child in us and once in awhile it shows. This post makes me visualise seven children having a wonderful time at a water source. Excellent post!!!!
